Weight loss tips or a healthy lifestyle change..Follow to be fit from fat...


Weight loss is a major problem among men and women.There is no dearth of weight loss tips and diet,this make it difficult for you to keep a tab on which really works and which don't.Its time you step on to a more healthy side of  losing weight.Here are few weight loss tips, that will help you to adopt really healthy,weight-friendly habits for life.

FOOD HABBIT :
  • First calculate your weight,then decide how much you want to lose because setting a goal is very important in losing weight.
  • After the goal is set,now manage your time.Decide when what should be done,planning things make it easier for you to reach the goal.When you plan dedicate some time for your exercise.

  • When it comes to losing weight the mantra is "take in fewer calories and burn more calories".So keep an watch on how much calorie you intake.
  • Never forget your breakfast,its a fuel for you.
  • Take home made healthy food with less oil and low salt.This is the healthiest way to lose weight,but don't forget to ban those unhealthy junk food and aerated drink.
  • Add food,don't subtract ya you are hearing that correct.Just replace your food habbit ,add more fruits and vegetables in your food instead  of those unhealthy junk food.
  • Drink more water half an hour before you start your meal,this make you feel full.
  • Shrink your plates,serve food in a smaller plates,smaller bowls and spoons.This way you make your mind feel full first.Eat slowly so that your mind can register what you had and signals your body that it is full.
  • Eat 5 to 6 smaller portion of meal instead of 3 large meals.This way your metabolism is on  always.
  • Don't serve food in bowls or platters instead serve it in the plates.So once the plate is empty you are finished no going for second round.         
  • Avoid white foods , they contain large amount of carbohydrates which leads to weight gain.
  • Eat more spicy food  because the spicy ones turn up your digestive fire,causing your body to temporarily burn more calories.

  • Eat fresh fruits instead of juice beacause whole fruit has fibre content and keeps you satisfied for a longer time.
  • Eat more calories before noon, the more you eat in the morning the less you feel hungry in the evening . In the morning your calories burn off faster than in the evening  .
  • Never eat in front of the TELEVISION  because you never know how much you had.Trying eating at the same time everyday and eat only when you feel hungry.

  EXERCISE    :

  1. Food habbit is not the only thing that determine your weight loss,exercise is also an important factor.
  2. Exercise helps you to burn your fat fast and slim down.
  3. Going to gym can be very helpful but for those who can't walking is the best exercise.
  4. Take brisk walking for 45mins to 1hour to lose the weight,if you have to maintain your weight then 30 mins walking would do good.
  5. Take up the stairs every chance you get instead of the lift,this way you are burning more calories.
  6. Put on the music and dance to it with your kids.This way you are burning your calories and spending time with your kids.
  7. If possible get a pedometer,it helps to count your steps.On  average sedentary people take only 2000 to 3000 steps a day,so when you have a watch on it you can walk 2000 steps more which will help you to maintain your weight.
  8. Cleaning your house,washing your clothes and washing your car can be the best exercise and it helps you to burn more calorie.Once in a week spend some time for all this work and burn out your calories.
  9. Keep moving when ever possible,don't stick to the same place for a long time this way you will burn a little calorie.
  10. Stress is always detrimental to healthy weight loss in long run.Do yoga,meditation,deep breathing exercise or even read good books to combat stress.

 Weight loss is not magic,so be patient.It will not happen overnight,so don't be discouraged and punish your body with fad diets.And occasionally treat yourself with your favourite food.Sleep well ,your body needs seven to eight hours of sleep.Sleeping lesser or more could lead to fat accumulation .So make sure you get enough  rest.These weight loss tips or lifestlye change as i call it, will make you lose weight and maintain it in the long run.

Natural ways to get rid of Facial Hair!!!!!



From cooking back to my beauty tips.This time its about facial hair.Facial hair is quite embarrassing for  every women.There are many causes for facial hair on woman,the most common ones are hormonal imbalance,irregular menstrual cycle and certain medicines.It can also be  hereditary.

There are many methods to remove facial hair like
  • Bleaching-contains chemicals.
  • Shaving-not advicable on face.
  • Waxing-not suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Threading-can cause skin redness or puffiness and changes in skin pigments.
  • Tweezing - very painful and repeated tweezing can leave scars.
  • Depilatories-contains chemicals,not good for sensitive skin.

Here are few natural ways to reduce facial hair.These natural remedies will discourage hair growth if followed regularly,over a period of time.It also helps to get rid of very fine facial hair on upper lips and chin.
  • REMEDY 1 - Take equal amount of besan and milk,add 1tsp of turmeric powder and  1tsp of fresh cream.Mix well and apply on face and neck and leave it till it dries.To remove rub with the palm in the opposite direction of hair growth and wash with lukewarm water.
  • REMEDY 2 -Take a bowl of peeled  and crushed potatoes,place it on a seive and extract the juice.Add crushed lentils(soak lentil overnight to crush them well),4tbsp lemon juice,1tbsp honey and mix them well ,apply to face and leave on till it dries, remove as told in the above remedy.


  • REMEDY 3 - Mix sugar ,water and lemon juice to a thick paste.Apply it all over the face and neck and wash with warm water when it dries.
  • REMEDY 4 - Mix 2tsp of barley powder with little milk and lemon juice to make a paste.Apply and wash off when it dries.




  • REMEDY 5 - Take equal quantities of moong dal powder,neem leaves,kasturi manjal powder and few kuppai meni leaves(Common name :Nettle leaves,Scientific name:Acalypha Indica).Grind all this into a fine paste with less water.Apply it all over the face and neck,let it dry for 20 mins.Scrub your face in the  direction of hair growth.And wash your face with warm water.

    SEMIYA BIRIYANI(NON VEG)

    As told in my last post,today am going to post a  yummy non veg recipe SEMIYA BIRIYANI..(you can substitute the mutton with veggies of your choice to  make yummy veg biriyani)
    Yes  it is  a twist to your usual biriyani...
     You r going to substitute your rice with vermicelli in the mutton biriyani and it is equally delicious as its counterpart mutton biriyani....
    It is a yummy recipes which goes well with raita....
    So here we go....

    Preparation Time: under 15 mins   
    Cooking Time: under 35 mins

    Ingredients Needed:

    1. Ghee - 1 tbsp
    2. Oil - 1 tbsp or as needed
    3. Vermicelli/Semiya - 350gms (roasted- get the plain vermicelli and roast it till golden brown by adding a little ghee)
    4. Mutton - 200gms
    5. Onion - 1 big ,chopped
    6. Tomato - 2 medium,chopped
    7. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp 
    8. Green chillies - 2 ,slited
    9. Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp,chopped
    10. Pudina leaves - 1 tbsp,chopped
    11. Garam masala powder( i use the homemade one )- 1/2 tsp( can add a little  more at the end  if needed)
    12. Whole garam masala -( cardamom -2,cinnamom stick- a 1"piece,cloves- 3)
    13. Redchilly powder - 1/2tsp (i have added too little coz my kids don prefer too spicy,can add a little      more if   needed)
    14. Sambhar onions(optional) - 5 to 6, crushed
    15. Lemon juice - 2 tsp
    16. Curd(optional) - 1 tsp(add only if needed orelse it will become too sour)
    17. Salt -  as needed

    Preparation :

    • Heat oil and ghee together  in a pressure cooker.Add the whole garam masala.
    • Then add the onions and fry until they become translucent,add the ginger garlic paste and fry until they start sticking to the bottom.
    • Add tomato,coriander leaves,green chillies and pudina.Cook till the tomatoes are done.
    • Now add the garam masala powder and chilly powder.
    • Then add the mutton,curd, lemon juice and salt(as needed).Stir for few seconds.
    • Add little water(measure the water before you add) and close the lid.
    • Pressure cook till the mutton is done.(after a whistle i used to put it on slow flame for 8 to 10 mins)
    • After the pressure is released open the cooker, check how much water is there.
    • Now measure the roasted vermicelli in a cup ,for 1 cup of vermicelli add 11/4 cup of water (include the water in the gravy).
    •  Add the water to the gravy and let it boil.
    • Then now add the vermicelli to this,cook in a low flame till done.Keep stirring now and then to prevent it from sticking to the cooker.
    • Now put off the flame, close the lid and leave it to rest for few mins.
    • Serve with raita.

    STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:                

    •          STEAMING -   
                             TO OPEN UP THE PORES

                     THINGS NEEDED -WATER, POT TO BOIL THE WATER ,TOWEL.

                     HOW TO -BOIL THE WATER,THEN REMOVE IT FROM FLAME.THERE ARE TWO WAYS EITHER YOU CAN PUT  YOUR FACE OVER THE TOP OF THE POT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH A TOWEL OR YOU CAN DIP THE TOWEL INTO THE WATER AND THEN SQUEEZE IT AND PAT IT ON THE  FACE.
                    
    •          CLEANSING - 
                             TO CLEAN THE SKIN AND REMOVE IMPURITIES.

                     THINGS NEEDED- MILK 1 TBSP,HONEY 1 TSP

                      HOW TO - MIX THE INGREDIENTS.APPLY ALL OVER THE FACE IN UPWARD CIRCULAR MOTION FOR FEW MINS.THEN WASH OF WITH WARM WATER.

    •       TONING - 
                          TO REFRESH AND SOOTHE 

                   THINGS NEEDED -  POTATO OR CUCUMBER JUICE (IF NEEDED REFRIGRATE BEFORE ONE HOUR TO GET THE COOLING EFFECT), CLEAN COTTON BALLS.

                    HOW TO - DIP THE COTTON BALL IN THE JUICE AND SMOOTH IT OVER YOUR FACE AND NECK.
    • EXFOLIATION- 
                        TO REMOVE THE DEAD SKIN AND CLOGGED IMPURITIES
                
                         THINGS NEEDED- SUGAR OR RICE POWDER,LEMON JUICE OR WATER.
         
                         HOW TO - APPLY THIS MIXTURE WITH CIRCULAR MOTIONS ALL OVER THE FACE AND NECK FOR FEW MINUTES.WASH OF WITH WARM WATER.
    •    MASSAGE - (OPTIONAL FOR PEOPLE WHO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE TO DO IT THEMSELF.YOU CAN SWAP IT WITH A FRIEND IF POSSIBLE)
                         TO IMPROVE BLOOD CIRCULATION  

                   THINGS NEEDED- OLIVE OIL OR ALMOND OIL   
                       
                    HOW TO - 

    1.  BEGIN WITH UR FOREHEAD,IN THE MIDDLE WITH CIRCULAR MOTIONS OUTWARDS TOWARD THE TEMPLE.REPEAT 5 TIMES
    2. FROM YOUR TEMPLES,GLIDE YOUR FINGER OVER YOUR BROWS AND CIRCLE YOUR EYE SOCKETS.THE PRESSURE SHOULD BE VERY LIGHT.REPEAT TWICE.
    3. SLIDE UR FINGERS DOWN EACH SIDE OF YOUR NOSE TO THE TIP AND UP AGAIN,END AT THE TOP OF THE MOUTH.REPEAT 5 TIMES
    4. USE INDEX AND MIDDLE FINGER AND START AT THE CHIN,GENTLY MASSAGE IN CIRCULAR AND UPWARD MOTION AROUND THE MOUTH AND LIPS.BRING IT TO THE TOP OF THE MOUTH AND UNDER THE NOSTRILS.REPEAT 5 TIMES.
    5. IN A CIRCULAR MOTION MASSAGE OUTWARDS FROM YOUR CHIN TO YOUR EARLOBES,FROM THE CORNERS OF UR MOUTH TO THE MIDDLE OF YOUR EARS AND FROM YOUR NOSTRILS TO YOUR TEMPLES.REPEAT TWICE.
    6. BEGINNIN ON YOUR RIGHT WHERE THE JAWS  MEETS YOUR EAR. USING YOUR THUMB AND INDEX FINGER,GENTLY SLIDE ACROSS THE JAW TO YOUR CHIN. MASSAGE BACK TO THE STARTING POINT WITH CIRCULAR MOTIONS.REPEAT 3 TIMES ON EACH SIDES.
    7. BEGINNING AT THE BACK OF THE NECK, MASSGE UPWARDS TO THE HEAD WITH CIRCULAR MOTIONS.REPEAT 5 TIMES
    COME AROUND TO THE FRONT OF THE NECK AND GENTLY STROKE UPWARDS FROM COLLARBONE TO THE BASE OF THE CHIN.REPEAT 3 TIMES.

    • MASK
                      TO TIGHTEN THE SKIN
       
                       THINGS NEEDED - GRAMFLOUR 2 TBSP,PINCH OF TURMERIC POWDER,FEW DROPS OF LEMON JUICE,MILK 1 TBSP ,FEW DROPS OF OLIVE OIL (IF THE SKIN IS VERY DRY)

                        EGGWHITE AND 2 TBSP YOGHURT
       
                        HOW TO - MIX ALL THE INGREDIENTS WELL AND APPLY IT ALL OVER THE GFACE AND NECK AND LEAVE IT FOR FEW MINS TIL IT DRIES OF.THEN WASH OF WITH WARM WATER.

    • MOISTURISE -
                        TO HYDRATE THE SKIN

                    HOW TO - DAB THE MOISTURIZER ALL OVER THE FACE AND NECK.

    ALTHOUGH IT IS MESSY TO PERFORM BUT COST NOTHING....YOU WILL SEE A FABULOUS GLOWING SKIN AFTER YOUR FACIAL..YOU CAN REPEAT THIS ONCE IN 15  OR 20 DAYS AS AND WHEN NEEDED

    EXERCISE FOR ARMS AND HIPS

    To everybody out there who want to  lose weight especially on their hips and arms.U can nw do it from home....just spend a few minutes of your time for ur own goodness.These exercises will do wonder!!!!Jus be regular in what you do and take a healthy meal along with these exercises.Healthy meal does not mean only veggies,u can eat everything but make it in to smaller portions instead of bigger ones.Say u take 3 big meals ,make in into six.This way it increases your metabolism which in turn helps in losing weight.So if you want to lose weight a little bit of change is needed.Get ready to change the way you look with these simple execises.These eXercises are tried and tested by me.And helped me lose my post pregnancy weight,specially on my arms and hips.I don say u i'll lose all tht flab in a single day be consistent in what you do and see the difference.i know it is very difficult to start with it but once you get used to then u i'll love the change.ok then here v go...

    • ALWAYS DO WARM UP BEFORE STARTING ANY EXERCISE
    • THESE ARE WARM UP EXERCISES
      1. STAND UPRIGHT THEN STRETCH UR LEGS  AND ARMS APART ,SWING THEN BOTH CLOCKWISE AND ANTICLOCKWISE DIRECTION.WITH 10 REPETITION.
      2. THEN IN THE SAME POSITION BEND DOWN WITH YOUR RIGHT ARM TOUCH YOUR LEFT FEET AND YOUR LEFT ARM WITH WIT YOUR RIGHT FEET.DO THIS WITH 10 REPETITION.
    • ARMS EXERCISE
    • NOW WE GO TO THE MAIN EXERCISE FOR YOUR ARMS,IT IS BETTER IF YOU HAVE A DUMBBELL,BUT IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE.DONT WORRY TAKE TWO 1 LITRE AQUAFIN WATER BOTTLE OR ANY MINERAL WATER BOTTLE FILL IT WITH WATER ,NOW YOUR DUMBBELL IS READY. 
      1. STAND UPRIGHT WITH THE BOTTLES IN BOTH THE ARM,SHOULDERS STRAIGHT ARMS DOWN.NOW LIFT THE FOREARMS WITHOUT MOVING YOUR UPPER ARM TILL YOUR SHOULDERS.(IF U MOVE YOUR UPPER ARM THE EXERCISE WILL GO WRONG)
      2. MOVE UP AND DOWN BOTH THE ARMS.DO WITH 30 REPETITION.YOU CAN ALSO DO ONE BY ONE THEN IT SHOULD BE 60 IN TOTAL 30 RIGHT AND 30 LEFT.
      3. IN THE SAME POSITION (IT I'LL B BETTER IF U HAVE 1 TWO LITRE BOTTLE FOR THIS EXERCISE),HOLD ONE BOTTLE WITH BOTH THE ARMS .TAKE YOUR ARMS ABOVE YOUR HEAD SLIGHTLY BACKWARDS WITH YOUR KNEES SLIGHTLY BENT, MOVE UR ARMS UP AND DOWN WITH 30 REPETITON.
    • THESE TWO EXERCISES IF REGULARLY DONE WILL DO WONDERS ON YOUR ARMS.
    • HIPS EXERCISE
    • YOU WILL NEED A SCREEN ROD FOR THIS A SMALL SIZED  OR YOU CAN TAKE A HOLD OF UR DOOR.
    • STAND STARIGHT LEGS APART AND HANDS UP IN THE SKY,SLIGHTLY BEND TO RIGHT TILL WHICHEVR YOU CAN A ND TAKE A HOLD OF THE DOOR IN THT POSITION IF IT IS  A ROD PUT THE ROD STRAIGHT NEXT TO YOU THEN BEND TO YOUR RIGHT HOLD THAT IN YOUR HAND. DO THIS ON BOTH THE SIDES WITH 30 REPETITION ON BOTH SIDES.
    • IF YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE  START DOING THIS EXERCISE BY JUS BENDING TO YOURSIDES BY HOLDING THE LEGS SAYS LEFT LEG WITH LEFT ARM AND THE RIGHT ARM UP IN THE SKY.AND THE SAME WAY ON THE OTHER SIDE.
    • YOU WILL FEEL THE STRETCH IN UR HIPS WHEN YOU DO THIS. THEN THE POSITION IS CORRECT.
    KEEP DOING AND LEMME KNOW THE RESULTS!!!!!

    ME...HOME...DIET AND EXERCISE..


    I was so obsessed about being fat. But all this started after my delivery.A girl who was very thin has become an aunty after her delivery. I din notice this change in me for a while.My motherhood made me forget everything else in this world.Then after few years there comes my second delivery again loaded with pounds. My second delivery got me cautious about my weight gain.Weight gain, obesity leads to many things in life ,u get depressed by the way u look and many more  health related problems.I stared looking very clumsy in all my dress. I jus want to put and end to all this.This is were I started with my dieting then  exercise and  gym. After joinging gym I thought I want to lose all the  weight in a very few days, but only after few months I knew wat I thought was wrong here I will post few tips to lose weight tried and tested by me.

    BLOGGING... A NEW EXPERIENCE....

    Blogging is so interesting that it make you think about it all the time ,like what should I post next on which topic and so on the list is endless .Then I thought may be its because all this is new to me.Anyways I will continue to post some interesting topic rather than all this atleast from tomorrow.I am looking forward to your comments and you can ask me anything related to cooking, fashion and so on as I have told in the previous post.
